Discussion:

Thanks to our great track setters, we had a fabulous day skiing the middle trails at PLPP. The new tracksetting was perfect – firm, fast and fun. We used V40/45 waxes for the morning, and had great success. Starting at Elkwood parking at 9:45 with a temp of -12C. we skied Amos>Wheeler>bottom of Packers>return via Wheeler to Elkwood, then across the road to Lodgepole down to the PLPP Visitor Centre for lunch. The older tracks on Lodgepole were quite icy and there was some tree debris that stuck to our skis. The iciness made for a slithery trip, especially on the uphills. After lunch we skied Meadow back to the car where we switched to our waxless skis. This gave us much better grip and we happily skied Amos>Wooley>Meadow back to the parking lot. +2C. at the end.

“Mark my ski tracks, my good friend, ski now in them madly, When you come to winter’s end, ski those tracks most gla- a- dly!”
(With apologies to the good king.)
