THE SPINE, COASTLINE and TUNNEL LOOP - Groomed and Trackset

Discussion:

While I am familiar with the Spine and Coastline as horse trails in summer, in winter they are primarily mountain bike trails. They are groomed with a Snowdog by the Banff Mountain Bike Alliance. The track is too narrow for skate skiing, but fine for classic skiing (wide enough for your pole plants).
There is very little elevation gain or loss on these trails, which adds to the enjoyment.
I did not encounter anybody all day, but maybe best for mid-week use.

I started out on the Spine from the Hidden Ridge Resort

In case you are not familiar with the Snowdog, here is a file photo of it

The Douglas Fir trees are magnificent

The Coastline is a little edgy

Nice to return on the trackset campground loop
