EMERALD LAKE and the ALLUVIAL FAN - Pure White Snow

Discussion:

Great destination for cold clean snow.
Driving past Lake Louise, the wind was howling, and we felt sorry for anyone on the Pipestone!
The temperature dropped below zero as we headed towards Field, and there was no wind at all in the Emerald Lake area.
Skiing the loop became a very social occasion as the temperatures stayed around minus 2. We could have chatted with Peter and Wanda for a lot longer!
The Evergreen and West Winds Clubs were also enjoying the area, and having met the Seattle Mountaineers yesterday, we are very impressed with this way to enjoy the Park.
By the way, there was even a supportive crust on the snow, which I have not encountered yet this year.

The new bridge on the Alluvial Fan is a little further upstream than in the past (more ski fun).
