Discussion:
After sending the Loppet racers on their way after a delayed start... we decided to ski Moraine Lake Road to the viewpoint. Started about 10am at -12 C (SWIX V30 Blue worked great all day!). Upper tramline was freshly groomed and well skied (with very little foot traffic) - Moraine Lake Road was freshly groomed with only a few skiers on it. The cloud cover burnt off by mid-day yielding glorious sunshine at the view point.
Probably got close to -5C in the sun. Met a couple of obvious foreign tourists who had walked all the way to Moraine Lake - felt a little smug as we zoomed past them on hard packed track-set coming down. Foolishly decided to take Fairview loop back to the parking lot - very marginal conditions with lots of debris mixed in with the minimal snow... give it a miss until more snow falls.
Total distance: 20.00 Km
