Thanks very much to Anna and walterh for their Monday trip reports on PLPP. They were very helpful in guiding us along.

We were excited to bring some newbies with us today. Bsaka and her hubby Parker did just fine. They’re getting more and more comfortable with this sport. No doubt, they'll soon be passing us. A slightly sprained ankle caused our group to turn back a bit early but beyond that, there were smiles all around.

The temperature was a crisp -13 degrees, rising throughout the morning and afternoon to -2 degrees upon our return. I used blue VR40 wax which seemed to work well. Probably could have a warmer wax in the afternoon. The others had skin skis which worked great.

The trails were in good shape, thanks to the hard work and dedication of the groomers. I noticed some variability of the trail conditions, which depended on the temperature and the amount of sun exposure.

Packers was generally good however a couple of the hills towards the lower elevations were very icy. Take care there. More snowfall will fix that up!

I met Rebecca, an Alberta Parks staffer who works at the nearby visitors centre. She explained the important of skiing the trails in order to give proper guidance to visitors. Big reader of this blog!
