After a good sleep-in, a leisurely arrival at 1055 to the Ribbon Creek parking area. I had ambitions to venture out further to PLPP, but figured you only get so many days per year with good conditions farther north. Skied Kovach > Aspen > Kovach > Link > Ribbon Creek > Hidden (out and back) which made for a quick but lovely day.
Bluebird skies, but I hadn't skied these trails in the sun in years so I forgot how much of the terrain is in permanent shade this time of year.
-11C at the parking lot on departure and -5C on return. Snow and track-setting were great. I was slightly overwaxed with swix blue, but that meant I got great grip while climbing, even if I gave up a little glide later on.
Trails were surprisingly not that busy, which was a bonus (despite a pretty full parking lot?).
Had the good fortune to run into SkierBob, at first without realizing who he was, was lovely to finally meet him!
Overall, a wonderful day in the mountains.
